All About Microdermabrasion

Aluminum Oxide crystals or coronum are projected onto the skin with an air stream in a safe and uniform manner to painlessly exfoliate the upper layers of the dead skin cells of the  epidermis. These crystals, along with dead skin cells, are vacuumed into a  closed filter container and discarded. A control gauge allows for increased vacuum for a  more aggressive peel and decrease vacuum for a more gentle peel.

How The Process Works:

Microdermabrasion is a process that is achieved by using a highly controlled spray of fine aluminum oxide crystals under pressure and vacuum. This procedure acts to remove the outer layer of skin in a highly controlled manner. When a more aggressive treatment is necessary, vacuum pressure will be increased to evenly penetrate deeper layers of the skin. While microdermabrasion is peeling away the top skin layer, vacuumassisted massage is treating the dermis, and the subcutaneous tissue to enhance circulation. When repeated multiple times, the younger softer skin moves to the surface, promoting discernable changes in texture, color and appearance. These crystals literally "erase" the imperfections and sun damage, without damaging the skin's integrity. The result: a smoother, more youthful appearance.

You may feel a sanding sensation similar to a cat "licking you" when the crystals make contact with your skin. Redness may last from one half hour to one day, depending on how aggressive the treatment.
